Safety Tips & Dinner Rules
Everything that keeps the table comfortable.
You'll be sharing a table with five people you haven't met before. A little preparation and mutual consideration go a long way toward making the evening relaxed and enjoyable for everyone.
Please review the event information before arriving: date and start time, restaurant address, and the set menu. This is a small dinner with only six guests, so late cancellations and no-shows have a noticeable impact on the rest of the table — let us know as early as possible if your plans change. Consider telling a friend or family member where you're going and when you expect to be home, and arrange safe transportation in advance, particularly if you intend to drink alcohol. The guests at your table may have different backgrounds, lifestyles, and opinions — curiosity and kindness go a long way. You don't need to prepare anything; simply arrive ready to meet new people at your own pace.
Please arrive on time so the group can begin the dinner together — we recommend arriving about 10 minutes before the scheduled start. When you arrive, ask the restaurant team for the booking under Pavlova, or follow the arrival instructions in your confirmation message. Running late? Contact us at support@pavlova.com so we can inform the restaurant or the other guests.
There's no pressure to answer a question, share personal details, exchange contact information, or stay longer than you feel comfortable. Give everyone space to participate and keep discussions respectful. Share only what you're comfortable sharing, and don't pressure other guests for contact details. Tell us about allergies or dietary restrictions via the short form sent after booking. Drink responsibly and keep your drink within sight, and keep your phone, wallet, and belongings with you at all times.
Your booking includes the set menu, tax, and gratuity. Any additional drinks, dishes, upgrades, or personal orders are the responsibility of the guest who orders them, unless the table clearly agrees otherwise. Please ask the restaurant team how additional items will be charged before ordering, and follow local tipping customs if gratuity isn't already included.
This event is designed to introduce guests over dinner, but participation doesn't imply personal or romantic interest. Please respect verbal and non-verbal boundaries — unwanted flirting, invasive questions, or harassment are not acceptable. Never transfer money to someone you've just met, or share banking details, passwords, or verification codes with another guest.
Please ask before taking or posting a photo or video that includes another guest — not everyone is comfortable appearing on social media, and consent should never be assumed. We may occasionally take photographs during the event; we'll let guests know in advance and respect anyone who prefers not to be photographed.
You're welcome to continue the evening or exchange contact details when the interest is mutual. For your safety: meet again in a public place, arrange your own transportation, share personal information gradually, and trust your instincts if something feels uncomfortable. There's no expectation to keep socializing — you're free to leave whenever you choose.
FAQ
For anyone who enjoys meeting new people over great food. Whether you've just moved to the city, want to expand your circle, or are simply looking for an interesting evening – you'll fit right in.
Each dinner has 6 guests. Small enough for everyone to join the conversation, large enough for different perspectives and interesting discussions.
That's completely okay. Many guests feel that way before arriving. We provide conversation prompts and simple icebreakers to help the conversation start naturally – you can check them out at https://pavlova.com/break-the-ice
That's exactly why we keep the groups small and provide optional ice breakers. In our experience, once the first few minutes pass, the conversation usually flows on its own.
You'll be able to tell us about allergies or dietary preferences when booking. We'll coordinate with the restaurant whenever possible.
For this event, we recommend booking individually so everyone has the same experience of meeting new people. If you feel too nervous, you may invite someone you know, they would need to pay for their seat separately.
Cancel until 24 hours before the dinner and you get a full refund. After that the table is locked with the restaurant, so late cancellations and no-shows are non-refundable – with only six seats, they affect everyone else's evening.
That's entirely up to you. Some people head home, while others continue chatting, exchange contact details, or make plans to meet again.
